Whole-Home Water Filtration for Tampa Bay Homes

One system that treats the water for the whole house — every faucet, every shower, every appliance. If your water tastes like a pool or leaves grit in the aerators, this is usually the fix.

What a whole-home filter actually does

A whole-home filtration system sits on the main line where water enters your house, so everything downstream is treated. In Tampa Bay that usually means reducing the chlorine or chloramine taste and odor the utilities use to disinfect, along with sediment and other common contaminants. The result is water that doesn't smell like a pool at the shower and doesn't leave grit in your faucet screens.

It is the right tool for a taste, smell and sediment problem. It is not a water softener — filtration does not remove the dissolved calcium and magnesium that cause hard-water scale. Many Tampa homes run both, because the two solve different problems. We'll tell you honestly which one your house actually needs.

Signs a Tampa home needs one

  • Chlorine or "pool water" smell at the shower and kitchen tap
  • Water that tastes off, especially first thing in the morning
  • Sediment or fine grit in aerators, or cloudy water after a main break
  • You're buying bottled water or running a pitcher filter you refill constantly

How we do it

We start with a free water report — we pull your utility's published water-quality data for your address and talk through what you're actually experiencing. Then we tell you which system fits and what it costs, on the phone. A licensed, insured plumber installs it, usually in a few hours, and shows you how it runs before they leave. Nobody comes to your home to sell you anything.

Frequently Asked

Whole-Home Water Filtration — Common Questions

What does whole-home water filtration remove?

A whole-home carbon-based filter mainly reduces chlorine and chloramine taste and odor, plus sediment and a range of other contaminants, throughout the house. The exact reduction depends on the media used and your incoming water. It does not remove hardness — that requires a water softener.

Is whole-home filtration the same as a water softener?

No. Filtration reduces taste, odor and sediment. A softener removes the dissolved calcium and magnesium that cause scale, spotting and appliance wear. They solve different problems and are often installed together, because Tampa water tends to have both a hardness issue and a chlorine-taste issue.

Where is the system installed?

On the main water line where it enters the house — commonly in the garage or near the water heater — so every tap downstream gets treated water. A licensed plumber handles the connection to your existing supply.

Do I still need a reverse osmosis system for drinking water?

Whole-home filtration improves all the water in the house, which is enough for most people. If you want the highest-purity water specifically for drinking and cooking — reduced PFAS, lead and dissolved solids — an under-sink reverse osmosis system is the add-on for that, and the two work well together.
