What reverse osmosis does
Reverse osmosis (RO) pushes water through a very fine membrane that filters out contaminants down to a tiny size. Installed under your kitchen sink with its own dedicated faucet, an RO system delivers high-purity water for drinking, cooking, coffee and ice — reducing PFAS ("forever chemicals"), chlorine, lead, sediment and a large share of the dissolved solids that affect taste.
It's point-of-use by design: you treat the water you consume to the highest standard without over-treating every tap in the house. It pairs naturally with a whole-home softener or filter — the whole-home system protects your plumbing and fixtures, and the RO polishes the water you drink.

What does a reverse osmosis system remove?
RO reduces a very broad range of contaminants, including PFAS, chlorine, lead, sediment, and much of the total dissolved solids that affect taste and odor. Because the membrane filters to such a fine level, RO water is about the highest-purity drinking water you can get at home.
Does reverse osmosis waste a lot of water?
Older RO systems sent several gallons to drain for each gallon produced. Modern high-efficiency systems have improved that ratio significantly. For most households the amount is modest, and it's traded for genuinely high-purity drinking water. We'll spec an efficient system.
Does RO remove healthy minerals, and can you add them back?
RO does reduce dissolved minerals along with contaminants. Many people don't notice or mind, since minerals in drinking water are a small part of dietary intake. If you prefer, we can include a remineralization stage that adds a small amount of minerals back for taste.
Where is the RO system installed?
Under the kitchen sink, with a small dedicated faucet mounted at the sink for drinking and cooking water. It connects to your existing cold-water supply and drain. A licensed plumber handles the installation.
