How It Works · Start to Finish From Your Phone

Your Price Without a Salesman in Your Living Room

Most companies won't quote you without getting inside your house first — where a "free water test" turns into a two-hour presentation at your kitchen table, a manager on speakerphone, and a number that drops every time you say no. That's a miserable way to buy a water system, so we don't do it. Three steps, the first two on the phone, and you know the price before anyone sets foot in your house.

1. Tell Us What's Going On

Send your address and what you're seeing — spotted glasses, crusty fixtures, chlorine smell. A quick photo of your water heater or main line helps. We pull your utility's published water data or your well's profile, so we know your water before we call.

2. Straight Answer + Price, On the Phone

About ten minutes. We tell you which system your home needs — and which parts you don't need — and we give you the installed price right there. If you're not a good fit, we'll say that too.

3. Licensed Installation

A licensed, insured plumber installs your system — usually a half day. They test it with you, show you how it runs, and leave. They're there to install, not to sell you anything.

Water Softener Systems

For the soft-water feel. Bay-area water is hard, and a softener is the only thing that gives you spot-free glassware, softer skin and hair, and less soap scum. It's a comfort choice — and we'll tell you straight when it's worth it and when it isn't.

About Droplet Water Co. · Tampa Bay Water Treatment

Tampa's Straight-Answer Water Treatment Company

Droplet Water Co. is a water conditioning and water treatment company serving Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Brandon, Riverview, Wesley Chapel and the surrounding Bay area. We install whole-home carbon filtration and reverse-osmosis drinking water for clean, healthy water at every tap, plus water softening, city water treatment and well water treatment.

Tampa's water is legally safe — but it comes out of a limestone aquifer, disinfected with chloramine, so most homes here can taste the chlorine and want cleaner water to drink and bathe in, and many want the soft-water feel on top. That's a solvable problem, and it doesn't require a two-hour presentation in your living room to solve. We tell you what's actually in your water, what's worth doing about it — and what isn't — and what it costs, on the first call.

  • The price comes first, not last. You get the installed number on the phone. If it doesn't work for you, that's a fine place to stop.
  • Sized for your water, not our margin. We read your utility's published report or your well's profile and recommend from that — including telling you when you don't need something.
  • Licensed, insured installers. Every install is performed by a licensed plumber carrying their own workers' comp and general liability. They install; they don't sell.
  • Tampa Bay only. Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco. We know what comes out of these pipes because it's the only water we work on.

We're new in Tampa and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What we can promise is the opposite of the living-room-pitch playbook — here's what we'll put in writing on day one. Judge us on it.

Priced on the first call

No "we'll need to come out to give you a number." You get the installed price on the phone, in about ten minutes.

No in-home sales appointment

Nobody sits at your kitchen table with a folder, a tablet, and a manager to call. The only person who comes to your home is the licensed plumber installing your system — after you've already decided to buy.

Licensed & insured installs

Every system is installed by a licensed, insured Florida plumber — we verify their license, workers' comp and general liability before they ever work a job.

Tampa Bay is all we do

Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco. One aquifer, one set of utilities, one kind of water. We're not a national brand guessing at your zip code.

The Prove-It-At-Your-Tap Guarantee

We test your water with you on install day, right at your own tap — before and after. The chlorine taste and smell noticeably reduced, fewer dissolved solids in your drinking water, and better water at every tap — proven in your own glass, or we make it right. If you added softening, hardness comes to zero too. It covers your water, and only your water. And the No-Pressure Promise: nobody comes to your house to sell you anything, and the price we give you on the phone is the price. That's the whole deal.

Frequently Asked · Answers to Your Questions

Common Questions About Tampa Water Treatment

Straight answers about hard water in Tampa Bay, what each system actually does, and how we price without coming to your house.

How hard is the water in Tampa?

Tampa Bay's drinking water comes largely from a limestone aquifer, so it carries dissolved calcium and magnesium — that's what makes it hard. How hard isn't one fixed number: the City of Tampa's own report notes hardness swings through the year, lower in the wet season and higher in the dry, and several utilities here don't publish a hardness figure at all. Private wells north of the city, in Pasco and northern Hillsborough, are typically harder still and often carry iron or sulfur. What matters more than a number is what you're seeing — scale on fixtures, spotted glassware, soap that won't rinse. Hard water is a nuisance, not a health problem: treating it is about comfort, not safety.

Is Tampa tap water safe to drink?

Yes. Tampa's tap water meets every federal safety standard, with room to spare — so filtering it is not about fixing unsafe water, it is about going further than the legal minimum. A reverse-osmosis system gives you noticeably better-tasting water for drinking, cooking, coffee and ice — fewer dissolved solids, and remineralized so it tastes clean rather than flat, even though levels here are within legal limits. Whole-home carbon removes the chloramine taste and smell at every tap. We will tell you honestly what is worth doing and what is not.

What is the difference between water filtration and a water softener?

They solve different problems. Filtration cleans your water — carbon reduces the chlorine and chloramine taste and odor at every tap, and reverse osmosis gives you clean drinking water at the kitchen sink. A softener does something else: it removes the calcium and magnesium that cause hardness, which is about how the water feels — softer skin and hair, spot-free glassware, less soap scum. Filtration is the health-and-taste layer; softening is comfort. You can have either or both, and we will tell you which you actually want.

Do I need a water softener if I am on Tampa city water?

Not necessarily, and we will be straight with you: hardness is a nuisance, not a health issue, and at Tampa's hardness a softener is a comfort choice. If you want the soft-water feel — softer skin and hair, spot-free glassware, less soap scum — a softener is the only thing that delivers it. If what you want is clean, healthy water to drink and use, carbon filtration and reverse osmosis do that without any softening. We will tell you which fits your home on the phone.

Can you treat both well water and city water?

Yes. City water in the Tampa area is mostly a taste, chlorine or chloramine, and hardness question — usually handled with carbon filtration, reverse osmosis, and softening if you want the feel. Well water is a different and bigger job: private wells around Pasco and north Hillsborough often carry iron, sulfur odor, sediment or bacteria alongside much higher hardness, and that water genuinely needs treatment before it is clean and safe to use. We supply and install the treatment equipment, built around what your specific well tests at. If your well pump, pressure tank or pressure switch itself needs work, that is licensed plumbing and electrical work, handled by a licensed contractor rather than by us.

Do you have to come to my house to give me a price?

No. We price on the phone. Most homes in this area fall into a small number of standard configurations, so once we know your water source, your household size and what you are experiencing, we can tell you what you need and what it costs in about ten minutes. Nobody comes to your home unless you have decided to buy — and then the person who arrives is a licensed plumber there to install, not to sell.

Are you a plumbing company?

No. We are a water conditioning and water treatment company. We supply and install water-conditioning units — softeners, filters, and reverse osmosis systems. The physical installation is performed by licensed, insured plumbers. Work outside that scope, such as water heaters, re-pipes or well pumps, is handled by a licensed plumbing contractor under their own license.

How long does installation take?

A typical whole-home filtration or softener install is a half-day job — typically three to five hours. An under-sink reverse osmosis system on its own is usually two to three hours. Well systems with iron or sulfur treatment can take longer. We give you a time window when we schedule, and the installer confirms before arriving.
